Willetton Junior Football Club fields 14 teams in 1982,

4 Under 9s teams, 4 Under 11s teams, 3 Under 13’s teams 2 Under 15s and 1 Under 17s teams.

The Under 11’s Blue team wins their Premiership, they beat East Fremantle on Sunday the 29th of August by 2 points.

Darren King wins the Umpire’s Fairest and Best on Ground and Troy Sweetman won the Ray and Glenis Hagan trophy awarded to the F & B Willetton player as voted by 5 independent judges.

President is Brian Gray and Secretary is Rob Ashley

WJFC hosts the Under 9’s lightning carnival on15th August at Burrendah Reserve.

40 players registered for Pee Wees and training is held at Willetton High School on their oval.

150 games  Dean Stammers  Under 17’s   Dean is the first Willetton player to reach 150 games and records indicate he was the first player to score a goal in a Willetton JFC jumper back in 1971.

Individual Achievements

Raymond George wins the EFFCJC Fairest and Best Award in the Under 13’s age group.

Darren King from the Under 11’s side comes 3rd in the EFFC Junior Council awards.

Under 12’s EFFC Combined side representatives are Darryn Rennick, Robert Trinder, Darryl Moore, Kane Whittaker, Jason Stammers, Matthew Rigby and Phillip Street

Under 15’s Murray Vost is selected in the WA State Schoolboys Team and wins the inaugural Rosenthal & Miller medal for outstanding achievement.

WAFL

Gavin Wake is recruited to East Fremantle.  He plays 38 games for the Sharks from 1983 1986 and kicks 3 goals.  Wake moves to West Perth in 1987 and plays 39 games over 2 seasons amassing 22 goals. In 1987 he played in a losing WA State side that was defeated by South Australia at the WACA by 61 points. Wake received 22 Sandover Medal votes in 1987, only 8 less than the winner Mark Watson. He also received 7 votes in the 1985 count and 11 in the 1988 count.
