Willetton Junior Football Club founded in 1971

The team colours become Black and Blue because they were the only standard colours available in the East Fremantle Football Club Junior Council competition.  The jumpers were purchased at Campbell Sports in West Perth and were long sleeved.

Mr Ian Adkins is the inaugural President and arranged the new jumpers with approval by the first committee.

Camm Reilly is Treasurer, Kevin Abbott is the Secretary.  The committee is made up of Dave Hackett, Ray Hagen, Bert Nye Terry Stammers, Mr Mathews and Mr Bradley

2 teams, Under 9’s coached by Ray Hagen and for the under 11’s  Dave Hackett was the first Coach.

The Teams played at Willetton Reserve on Apsley Road and that was their Home Ground for many years.

The players used the Scout Hall as their change rooms until they built their own changerooms. Both the Scout Hall and Change rooms are still there.

Willetton JFC’s early rivalry was with Riverton JFC as our Club was created because there were too many players at Riverton and some had even come across to help form Willetton.

Thank you to Chris Gotti and David Hackett for sharing your early years information
